For many photographs in the Bettmann Archive, the names of the photographers are unknown. And for literally millions of shots, the identities of the featured people are equally mysterious. This year, we're launching a worldwide effort to locate these important "missing persons" so that we can add new attributions or captions to the images.

Were you an audience member at a famous concert? Were you part of a historical civil rights march? Photographs in the Bettmann Archive capture historical and everyday moments through the 1970s. If an image of you has become a part of history, we would love to hear your story.
