SYDNEY(July 27, 2009) - Corbis (www.corbis.com), a leading visual media provider for the creative community, today announced that it is launching Creatives Behind the Lens, a competition to seek out the photographic talents of Australia's creative industry, with the support of D&AD. The highly-regarded competition, which originated in Europe and has been held annually in recent years, presents a unique opportunity for professionals working in advertising, marketing and media to showcase their photographic talent and receive recognition from a jury of industry experts. 2009 is the competition's inaugural year in Australia.
The call for entries opens today and is open to all non-professional photographers working in the creative industries in Australia. Creatives can enter by visiting www.creativebehindthelens.com.au. The call-for-entries continues through 4 September 2009.
Submissions will be judged first by a panel of esteemed industry professionals, including Matt Eastwood, Vice Chairman & National Creative Director of DDB Sydney; Julian Melhuish, Creative Director of Saatchi Design; Vince Frost, Founder of Frost* Design; Andy DiLallo, Executive Creative Director of Leo Burnett Sydney; Marc Gafan, Editor of Capture Magazine and Alasdair Foster, Director of the Australian Centre of Photography.
Winners will be announced in October, and their work will be exhibited nationally and also published in a Creatives Behind the Lens book.
