Pioneering Artist Collaborates with Corbis on New Rights Managed Original Works and Limited Edition Prints

Seattle (Thursday, October 19, 2006)-- New York-based, breakthrough artist Tristan Eaton has created a new series of original Rights Managed (RM) works exclusively for Corbis. First previewed at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, these works are now available for licensing exclusively at Corbis. Eaton is the President and Creative Director of Thunderdog Studios, a New York based creative agency and toy label, and recognized as a talent that moves across multiple mediums from graffiti art to commercial illustration to toy design.

In the spirit of collaboration and creative freedom, Corbis invited Eaton to explore the possibilities when given access to play with Corbis Royalty-Free (RF) images. The results of his exploration will be revealed over the coming weeks through the Corbis "˜Feel Free' promotion.

To commemorate this collaboration, Corbis commissioned Eaton to create a series of four limited edition silk screen prints on metal. When Corbis customers spend $450 on any combination of Royalty-Free images and CDs between October 4th and November 30th, they will receive one of the silk-screen prints, which will be released once every two weeks throughout the program. Customers will receive the print in release at the time they make their qualifying purchase.

"Corbis is excited about collaborating with Eaton on the new RM collection and character designs. We also saw a fun opportunity to showcase his talent and get a fresh perspective on the creative freedom that Royalty-Free licensing provides," said Steve Davis, President and CEO of Corbis. "With Royalty-Free licensing, Corbis provides a high-quality, cost effective tool to aid creatives in the development of new, original work. The works that Tristan created from our RF Collection are great examples of what's possible when talented creatives work with our Collection. And, just like our clients across the world who use RF in their campaigns, the creative can make the image their own. In doing so, the creative establishes both their visual mark and their copyright over the work."

In order to provide more control over image quality, Corbis has focused on growing its RF library, organically. In the first six months of 2006, the company acquired 90,643 RF images, of which 16,364 are wholly-owned.

"Corbis places a premium on providing the highest quality, most geographically relevant Royalty-Free images in the industry. We have invested in regional production teams in the United States, Europe and Asia to ensure that the images are relevant to customers on a global basis," said Gary Shenk, senior vice president of images at Corbis.
