Ford and Corbis Bullitt McQueen into 2008

Corbis Licenses the Rights to Ford Motor Company to use Steve McQueen in Association with the Limited Edition of the new Mustang Bullitt

NEW YORK (November 8, 2007) - Corbis (www.corbis.com), a creative resource for advertising, marketing and media professionals, today announced that its Rights Representation division has licensed the rights to Ford Motor Company to use Steve McQueen in association with the limited edition of the new Mustang Bullitt that was revealed this week at a special event in San Francisco, CA, USA. The car is modeled after the Mustang McQueen drove in the iconic motion picture Bullitt in 1968. The deal also includes the use of McQueen for Ford's industry-trade marketing activities.

"The return of Bullitt unites two great legends once again - Steve McQueen and the 2008 Bullitt," said Robert Parker, Ford Car Marketing Manager. "This modern classic delivers a balance of power and performance that only Mustang can do."

The release of the car coincides with the 40th anniversary of Bullitt, long considered the most legendary car chase film ever made. In the film, McQueen zooms through the streets of San Francisco in a Ford Mustang. The limited edition Ford Mustang Bullitt comes painted in the Dark Highland Green that was featured on the Mustang McQueen drove in the film. Ford plans to only produce 7,700 units.

"The new Mustang Bullitt is an instant icon with its legendary associations to Steve McQueen, the epitome of a man's man," said Martin Cribbs, Director of Rights Representation, Corbis. "It's exciting to work with a company like Ford, which has the ability to respectfully revitalize McQueen through the reintroduction of one of the most famous cars in cinematic history."

Steve McQueen is an enduring pop culture icon. He lived the American dream, coming from a poor, broken home and growing up to be a Hollywood star. The original celebrity racer, McQueen raced cars and motorcycles and did many of his own stunts in his films. His image is recognized worldwide, his movies are world renowned and he remains the King of Cool in the eyes of fans across generations.

Corbis' Rights Representation group acts as an exclusive representative to a select group of legendary icons. It is the world's leading provider of Rights Services, and exclusively represents the name, image and likeness of several of the world's most recognized personas including McQueen, Albert Einstein, the Wright Brothers and Sigmund Freud.
